Area Band Festival - March 9th

March 5, 2017

The annual South Carroll Region Area Band Festival will take place on Thursday March 9, 2017 at 7PM in the South Carroll High School Gymnasium.

The purpose of this festival is to promote instrumental music in our schools and to encourage our current instrumentalists to continue to participate in band throughout their public-school years.  This is a very special and exciting opportunity for Mt. Airy Middle School students to meet and perform with members of the South Carroll Cavalier Band.

On Thursday, March 9, our students will rehearsal and perform in a mass band which should number over 100 musicians.  Here are the important details and a schedule for the day of the festival:

Who: All band students from South Carroll High School and Mt. Airy Middle School

When:  Thursday, March 9, 2017.  Rehearsal begins promptly at 6:45PM, Concert begins at 7PM

Where:  South Carroll High School Gymnasium

Cost:  Admission is free.

Clothing:  Students are to wear the concert clothing that is generally expected for a performance at their own school (uniforms for middle school students, concert dress for high school students)

Every student is crucial to our success!  If your child is unable to attend the concert, please let Mr. Stevenson know in writing as soon as possible.  If transportation is a problem, please let Mr. Stevenson know so he can attempt to facilitate alternate arrangements.
