I am in the early stages of planning an exciting trip to New York, NY where the band and orchestra will perform in a national music festival. They will participate in an adjudicated concert performance, mini-clinic, and receive written and taped comments from nationally recognized music education professionals.
In addition to the festival performance and clinic, I’m working to plan a variety of activities, such as attendance at a Broadway musical, tour of Radio City Music Hall, visit to the 9/11 memorial, and dinner and awards ceremony at Medieval Times.
I am tentatively looking to take the trip on April 6 - 8, 2018. I estimate that the trip will cost roughly $500 - $550 per participant but won’t be able to give an exact cost until we finalize the number of students/chaperones that plan to go on the trip and get firm quotes from the bus and tour companies.
The South Carroll Instrumental Music Boosters and I are committed to helping make this trip affordable for all students. As such, we have decided that all profits from the fall Florida Indian River Groves fruit fundraiser will go into personal student accounts to defray the cost of the spring trip or other future program expenses.
Although retail prices for citrus at the grocery store may spike this fall due to damage caused to many groves by Hurricane Irma, I’ve been assured that our prices won’t change and that the fruit is in good condition, as Florida Indian River Groves are in eastern Florida and received only minimal damage. Translation - this is a good time to sell fruit!

All sales forms must be returned to me no later than 2:45PM on November 6, 2017. This is a hard deadline. Fruit will be delivered to SCH prior to winter break.
