3/28 SmartMusic Update

Dear South Carroll High School Instrumental Music Students and Families:

Since I last wrote you about SmartMusic, they’ve offered us free access to ALL of the Premium features of the platform. This will enable to you play anything for free without it being assigned. There’s lots of free material in all genres and at all difficulty levels - from K-pop to Bach to Hollywood. Check it out.

In order to access the free material, I’ve had to create new classes. SO - any of you have already tried to access SmartMusic using the codes I sent last week will need to try again. I’ve already created your accounts, so all you should have to do is login (except for the few folks I emailed privately about account issues.)

Directions -

  • You must use a device with Google Chrome

  • Go to https://www.smartmusic.com/login/

  • Click on the screen for "New SmartMusic"

  • Sign In - your username is the same as your CCPS username. (ex., DPA7406). If that doesn't work, try your entire CCPS email address.

  • Your password is the same as your CCPS login plus an exclamation point. (ex., fwt6445!)

  • You should be able to access all content

  • Having problems? Try the helpdesk at https://smartmusic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us or email me at JRSteve@carrollk12.org.

More about assignments, Google Classroom and Microsoft Teams next week…. Let’s make sure that SmartMusic works for right now.

I know that you’re getting a lot of information from all of your teachers right now. I strongly encourage you to print or write down all the information you’re being sent and contact your teachers if you’re experiencing difficulties. We’re all doing our best to adjust to this new situation.

- Mr. Steve
