Updated: Mar 3

Performance Details

On Tuesday, February 24, at 6:30 PM, the South Carroll High School Orchestra I, Honors Orchestra, and Honors Wind Ensemble will present a preview performance. This concert will showcase the music we will perform for our County assessment in mid-March. Additionally, the Mt. Airy Middle School 7th/8th Grade Orchestra and 7th/8th Grade Band will also take the stage during this event.

It is an exciting opportunity for our students to demonstrate their hard work and dedication. I encourage everyone to attend and support our talented musicians.

Important Attire Information

Please review the South Carroll High School Instrumental Music Performance Attire Policy here: Performance Attire Policy. Students who are not appropriately dressed will not be permitted to perform. This policy ensures that all performers present themselves professionally, reflecting the high standards of our program.

Arrival and Warm-Up

Students should arrive by 5:45 PM and be ready to warm up at 6 PM on February 24. Arriving on time is crucial for a smooth preparation process. It allows our musicians to focus and get into the right mindset before the performance.

The Importance of Music Education

Participating in the South Carroll High School Instrumental Music program is more than just playing an instrument. It is about developing essential life skills such as discipline, teamwork, and commitment. These skills are invaluable not only in music but also in everyday life.

Music education fosters creativity and self-expression. It provides students with a platform to explore their artistic abilities while working collaboratively with their peers. This experience builds confidence and encourages personal growth.

Encouragement for Participation

I encourage all students to take part in the Instrumental Music program. Whether you are a seasoned musician or just starting, there is a place for you. Every student deserves the chance to explore their musical talents and enjoy the benefits that come with it.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the upcoming performance on February 24 is a significant event for our students. It showcases their hard work and dedication to music. I look forward to seeing everyone there to support our talented musicians. Together, we can celebrate the achievements of the South Carroll High School Instrumental Music program and the bright futures of our students.
