Musical Curriculum
South Carroll High School offers a rigorous course of musical studies, including Band I, Honors Wind Ensemble, Orchestra I, Honors Orchestra, Honors Jazz Ensemble, Electronic Music, Honors Music Theory, and AP Music Theory. These are all scheduled courses. 99% of the time we are able to schedule students so that they are able to participate in a music performance class all four years of their high school career.
The counselors and music educators at SCH have helped numerous students resolve schedule conflicts, and will be able to help you if you have scheduling concerns or questions.

Extracurricular Opportunities
South Carroll High School offers many extracurricular options for students wishing to expand their musical horizons, including Marching Band, Full Orchestra, and Pit Orchestra. We also promote and encourage students to participate in CCPS All County enrichment, Maryland Music Educators Association (MMEA) enrichment, as well asl many other local, regional, state and national programs.

Students can participate in these instrumental music extracurricular opportunities and still be involved in other sports and activities. Not only is participation in other SCH organizations possible, it is encouraged.
