All South Carroll students are encouraged to audition for All County Band and/or All County Orchestra. These All County ensembles are an excellent opportunity for students to perform challenging music and to meet new friends from other schools with similar interests. Joining the Schoology group does NOT commit students to signing up for auditions. It just gives them access to the procedures and audition music. If students don't have access to a printer, I have hardcopies of the music and audition application forms for interested students. Students interested in auditioning must return a signed hardcopy of the appropriate audition application to me no later than 2:20 p.m. on October 11, 2024. (Ignore the deadline on the form - I want to make sure I get them early so I can collect any late forms and submit them all by the deadline).
The string auditions will be held on November 7, 2024 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at West Middle School. Wind and percussion auditions will be held on November 12, 2024 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at West Middle School. Students should arrange their own transportation to and from the auditions. If this is a problem, please let me know and perhaps I can facilitate some carpooling.
Although the requirements may look challenging at first glance, I am available during FLEX time and after school from 2:30 – 4 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays upon request to help interested students prepare for their auditions. With regular coaching and careful practice, the music will be quite playable by the audition date.
