Membership in the Carroll County High School All County Band/Orchestra is determined by a countywide audition. These All County ensembles are an excellent opportunity for students to perform challenging music and to meet new friends from other schools with similar interests. All students are encouraged to audition. If your child is interested, please have them join the HS All County Schoology Group using this code: G779-66SQ-6STNP. Audition procedures, applications and music are also available in the SCH Band/Orchestra room.
Joining the Schoology group does NOT commit students to signing up for auditions. It just gives them access to the procedures and audition music.
Students interested in auditioning must return a signed hardcopy of the appropriate audition application to me no later than 11:59 PM on October 19, 2023.
The string auditions will be held on November 9, 2023 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at West Middle School. Wind and percussion auditions will be held on November 14, 2023 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at West Middle School. Students should arrange their own transportation to and from the auditions. If this is a problem, please let me know and perhaps I can facilitate some carpooling.
Although the requirements may look challenging at first glance, I am available during FLEX and after school from 2:30 – 4 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays upon request to help interested students prepare for their auditions. With regular coaching and careful practice, the music will be quite playable by the audition date.
