Important Details for Band Students

Mt. Airy Middle School and South Carroll High School band students will perform at the Mt. Airy Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 6th, 2025. The performance will take place from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM. All brass and woodwind band students are expected to attend this festive event.
Music Distribution
All brass and woodwind students will receive their music before the Thanksgiving break. Please note that this event does not require percussion students. However, percussion students will have the opportunity to participate in other exciting events later this year.
Participation Confirmation
I need to know if you will be unable to participate. If you have a conflict, please inform me no later than Wednesday, December 3rd.
Event Information
Here are some important details for the event:
Event: Mt. Airy Christmas Tree Lighting
Date: Saturday, December 6th, 2025
Location: Downtown Mt. Airy, in front of the Mt. Airy Train Station
Arrival Time: Please arrive no later than 5:30 PM. We encourage everyone to arrive early to secure a parking spot.
Parking: Park in the municipal lot off Park Avenue. There are lighted steps from the parking lot to Main St., next to Browning Reagle Insurance.
What to Bring:
- A music stand and clothespins to hold your music in the breeze.
- If possible, bring a small battery-powered clip-on light. There will be some professional lighting available.
School Closure: South Carroll High School will not be open before or after the event on Saturday, December 6th. Please ensure you take your instrument and music home on Friday, December 5th, and bring it back to school the following Monday.
Dress Code: Dress warmly for the outdoor event.
Instrument Cases: If possible, leave your instrument case in your car.
